04 Sierra 2500HD Duramax...I've had the steering shaft replaced, but still on a medium to hard brake and a right turn I hear a loud pop from the front left tire. It only pops once but it is definate.

Seems to occur primarily with braking also.

Any thoughts?

If you have under 12K -15K miles.State lemon laws state for steering and brakes.They get 1 time to fix it.

Look in "Ask the Techs"....there are two other threads going on about this right now. If you'd just take the time to look around, you can usually find the answers you seek.....

You have tube steps installed? Hitting on frame mount.....

Jumping to lemon law everytime something goes wrong...I wonder why these trucks cost so much.

Thanks for the info, sorry I asked before I looked and later found a thread. My service mgr also mentioned the tube steps and said something about adding an additional washer to the set up.

I have a single pop noise when braking and turn at slow speed manuvers.

I do not have step bars and have r&r the front cross member, but it's still there.

Looking for a solution.


Turning into a parking space and soon as I touch the brakes I hear and feel it. Kinda like hitting a small patch of ice on pavement.
