I am looking for proven changes to improve fuel consumption/mileage. I drive a 04.5 LLy 3500 drw cc 4x4 work truck utility body. It weighs 9300 lbs on average and gets about 14.7 mpg by the driver info center. I am trying to improve this, not really looking to go faster, quicker, smokier, louder or any of the other things everyone else seems to be interested in. Don't want to spend gobs of money or shorten the life span of an already very powerful and no problem truck. Had 4 350 2wd 3500 chevys and am happy with the dmax allison. Any tried and proven suggestions out there?

Buy a chip and put it on the lowest setting. It will get you 1 - 2 MPG better. At least it did for me. :exactly:

Mileage sounds pretty good to me considering the added weight. Assume this is overall mileage--in town and out.

Im not complaining just trying to improve,@ $2.40 a gallon last time I bought, any improvement is a good one. The milage is the same around town or going 70-75 on the highway. No one goes 50-55 in Massachusetts unless you want to get run over.

I have 3000 miles on the truck. Yesterday we went looking for 5th Wheel to stick behind it. Driven 65 to 70 I was getting 17mpg. Driven at 75 it come down 16.7mpg. That’s what the dash was reading.
