Hello all
I have a 1985 M1009 chevy blazer, TH 400, NP 208 t-case, 6.2 diesel, etc. The problem I am having is when I try to start the truck after I have run it for a while, it just grinds. The starter does not want to engage. It hits the flywheel, grinds, I let off the key, and I hear it spin down. Its a 24 volt starter, mil-spec. If i let the truck sit for an hour +, it starts fine 9 out of 10 times. Is it harder to start when its warm? Any ideas would be appriciated! If you want to see general pictures of the truck, http://spitfire.homelinux.com/~sysop/m1009/ and http://spitfire.homelinux.com/~cleb/lights/, and one at http://spitfire.homelinux.com/~sysop/owned/DSCF0021.JPG (Nasty wreck). I am in the public safety sector, so I need this truck to start when its time to go to a call, not a grinding nosie :(.
Thanks everyone!
