I recently bought a new 2003 GMC 2500 HD Duramax and am looking to replace the tires. Do you know if 33X12.5X16.5 tires will fit the truck without a lift. They are BF Goodrich A/T. Would I be able to install these without cranking the torsions bars/could I install them if i did?? I want bigger tires but don't want to put up big money to lift the truck. Any thoughts/suggestions would be helpful.

You are gonna have to crank the torsion bars and it still might rub. But check out the wheels and tires section on here they have about every set up you could go with on here. Oh and the suspension section to with the search button you'll find anything.;)

Oh and congrads on the new truck! You came to the right place!

16.5? Why the odd size?

...must be a typo...

If your looking at someone's used 16.5's, better plan on getting 16.5 rims to match, which limits your choices. Probably better to hold off and find some 16's unless it's a smokin' (near free?) deal imo. Easier to find 16" rims (yours could be used if you still wanted that width in a 16, but a 12.50 really is way wide for a stock rim). And, 33's can fit...just a little crank and trim if anything, in most cases.
