Was thinking the other day, I know that the newer engines have pilot injection to help keep the engine more quiet, but does it actually impede or take away from some potential power making at lower rpms? I know its disabled above 2200-2500~

Can anyone with some tuning familiarity fill us in?

It is basically starting a small fire to light a much larger fire. I know that Caterpillar is running a pre, main, and post injection for noise, power and emissions. Electronics are great,

Right, but its like, little gun powder here, then alot more, or would it be more power, lighting the big pile of gunpowder at once? Just wondering.. I'd rather have more power and a noisy engine than something quiet with less giddyup.
