When in the performance setting (where I get my best fuel mileage), my truck looses power when I get on it wot. Via this forum I have been told that it is the transmission going into the limp mode.

What can I do to fix this problem at a resonable cost. i.e. shift kit or something of that sort.

if your truck was going into limp mode, you have a code and not be able to turn past 1900 rpm. when was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

My last oil change. about 5k ago.

does it get stuck in a gear or will it not go past 2000 rpms. if its the 2000 rpms then it is a fuel problem. i am betting p1093 code low fuel rail pressure

this time of year fuel is gelling pretty good, i would opt for the filter and and some 911.

I suggest that you replace the fuel filter and ---- then install a TransGo Jr. shift kit- that will help your trans live a little longer. The transmission LOVES clean fuel to the engine! :rolleyes:

Might just be defueling per the programmer(bully dog). A safty mech. built into the program.

Where are you located at?

It doesn't seam to get stuck in a gear, it just feels like it is not pulling like it should. I also noticed the boost psi and it only went to 21 on the outlook monitor.

During my drive today I will check the rpm's, the shifting pattern and the boost psi and get back to you.

During my drive earlier I pulled out on the road and mashed it to the floor and the rpm's were around 3000 and the boost guage read 21psi. That was on the performance setting. I put it on tow at the next stop and it also went to 21psi.

I stopped at the auto parts and picked up a fuel filter and am going to install it tomorrow.

p.s. What are the proceedures for installing the fuel filter. Do I need to fill with fuel prior to the install. I haven't even looked to see where it goes.
