The cold snap we were just under here in Michigan saw temps as loa as -20 at night in some areas.
My neighbor asked me to follow him to the shop earlier tonight to drop his van off to get itlooked at because it wasn't shifting. As I followed him, he realized it was now shifting fine.
He said the problem occured when it was real cold. Today it was about 25. Van ran fine.
Anyone else experience this? I'm asking for him because I don't know if he knows of this site or has time to post.
It is an '06 with under 60,000 miles.
This place was a great help earlier when I helped him locate the van to purchase, so thanks again!

Sorry, no help from me on this one, but...
Where is he/are you at in MI? We are having a get together at my place on the 31st. Nothing special, break up the winter boredom, hang out with some diesel friends, drink a couple beers, maybe a donut contest in the parking lot...
Be great to have another van guy here.

We're in Warren.
As my name states, I do not have a diesel, but I do have an '04 2500 series passenger Savana.
My neighbor has the Dmax in his '06 work van.
Although I don't have a diesel, I still like to hear about resources for vans. Not much out there it seems. For example, I was thinking of replacing my driver/pass seats with a pair from a conversion van. I kept running into dead ends when I searched for options.

You might need to join the "Michigan Oil Burners" in here to view, not sure. Or PM me for the address if you guys want to come.

My van did the same thing but shot a code of low rail pressure , I think the fuel was starting to gell . It would shift if I would lift the accelerator . When it warmed up and started to run , the trans shifted normal .

probably park/nuetral switch. Anyone know where I can get an early model of these vans with the DMAX?

2006 was the first year of the Dmax in the van. Try Ebay I always see one there every so often.

thanks man...there's a red one on there right now. (pretty good looking at that) I'm trying to find one that I can use for work and use as my tow rig. I was hoping that they started making them earlier... :( I guess there is always the powerstruggle option in the ford vans.

Ours does the same thing, at least for 5 to 10 miles. It seems until the tranny fluid warms up to 100F or so it won't lock up or go into overdrive. Otherwise, the truck is very sluggish and 'shifty' when the fuel starts to gel.
