When I had my Banks Six gun above level 3 and mash the pedal there is an enormous lag between shifts, almost like i'm driving a manual and can't shift fast enough. I was just wondering if this was normal because of the de-fueling by the six gun or if i needed to worry about something more serious? thanks,

The Banks programer along with the TCM read an enormous slip and that's why you had such a big defuel. Every time you change a program the TCM must do a relearn. You can speed up the process by clearing and resetting TAPs or do it the hard way and let it relearn on its own. You will always get slippage during the relearn because the TCM does not know you demanded much more tq; it is reacting to the change in demand, and it takes a while for it to try and conform to the demand. Depending on how much power you installed, it may never recover and will limp because the Ally is not capable in its stock state of assembly to handle it.

Thanks Mike,
so I guess no matter what chip I install i'm always going to have a lag unless I mod the tranny? I guess I'm just glad to hear that nothing is wrong with my Ally! how do you go about re-programming? Thanks,

also check your fuel filter, I had similar problem and it was the fuel filter clogged with trash (It is what i get for buying no name cheap fuel)

I run the Quadzilla box and the only way I could get the tranny to shift good was to run a SCT programmer to boost the line pressure in the transmission. So I have a SCT tranny only program stacked with the Quad box. Now the tranny shifts firmer and faster.

What Mike is saying, without saying it, is that the ally in it's oem state is not capable of taking a beating from increased power enhancements.
If you want to play, you need the tools to do it with. That translates to a new converter, and tranny upgrades.

MaxRSmart, it sounds like you are talking about a Ford 6.0 with the TS tranny? I wasn't aware that SCT made a "tranny tune" for the Ally.
