Im wondering if i should go ahead and get a emmision friendly diesel...This all depends of course if i can get out of my POS 07 GMC D-max. I swore to never get one, but it seems alot of people are not having as bad of luck with the LMM's. Like fuel mileage and general issues.

Thoughts please.

If fuel mileage is going to be an issue - stick with what you have. Other than that, I don't regret the move. I was getting 18 avg with the 06 LLY and only 13-15 with the 08 LMM.

A stock LMM can get 20mpg. My average hwy trips is 18mpg hand calc. Lift it etc and U know the outcome.......

if gas milage is an issue then don't bother getting anything. All I can say I love my gas hog and all. It is my weekend toy and a vacation tow vehicle and it beats the crap of my old gasser in every way.

I love mine. The only down side I see for me is I live in Alaska where they salt the roads and am next two the ocean. The thin metal will be gone before the truck is wore out:(

I love my LMM. Fuel milage isn't that bad either, I got 14mpg towing a horse trailer from Seattle to dillon Montana. Coming back with no trailer I got 19 - 20. Right now I get about 13-14 city and 17-19 highway. The one thing I don't like about the truck is the thin sheet metal and the HORRIBLE factory paint job. Besides that I absolutly love the truck. It's got tons of power and can tow all of my toys and equipment with no issues.

Personally I'm not happy with the way my LMM tow's my boat (9k lbs) with a 4" lift on it and no programmer. I'm thinking about taking the lift off to get better towing.

There is something wrong with your truck, cuz a 4 inch lift and 35's shouldnt effect your power any.. I would take it in to get checked out. My cummins had a 4 inch lift and 35's and it didnt affect towing one bit.

If i did buy one, i would have to at least put 305's on it, cuz those buldgy fenders are horrible looking.

Ive heard several complaints about the paint and the sheet metal being very weak, whats up with that?

Love my LMM. Tows like a mule, great ride, decent mileage and not one rattle so far.
The only complaint I have is the stupid dip stick design and no indicator light on the dash when it's in 4-wheel drive. Unless you are turning on a firm surface, the only way you know it's still in 4-wheel is the little tiny light on the knob that's used to engage/disengage 4-wheel. For as much money as this truck cost you would think they could afford to put some kind of light in the dash telling you when it's in 4x4.

im not too sure why they skimped on the paint and body panels but about 6 months after i got the truck my paint started to orange peel or dimple i guess you could call it. it also scratches very easily and dents very easily. after the winter i might spend some money on a nice (and tough) paint job but who knows... a little dirt on her and it looks fine :D

I've taken it into the stealership and they say "Everythingis operating within factory specs! Bye Bye"

You have to find another dealer. Its not running like its supposed to. and its not your lift and tires. thats a guarantee.
