: Module or Programmer?

I just bought my truck and was wondering what would be better, a module or programmer? I have been looking at the edge juice with *** and the edge evo. Do modules leave "tracks"? I know the programmers do. Also is the edge evo capable of changing tunes on the fly and reading boost psi? Has anyone been running the Diablo, and if so, how do you like it? What modules or tuners will not throw codes or service lights? I owned an 05 duramax but have not caught up on the lmm tech yet. Thanks for any info.

From my reading the Banks stuff seems to be the best. Even with going with their exhaust and intake systems. Of course modules dont leave tracks in the ECM but I beleive stuff is still logged per say and if sometime goes way over what the ECM says it can then they can probably suspect some aftermarket performance upgrade.

I can speak to the EVO. It can't change tunes on the fly. It can display up to 4 engine parameters and there are around 20 it tracks including boost. It connects to your OBD port and does not throw any codes. It does not have a DPF delete capability.

If you want to keep your warranty, then go with a Banks Six gun or Edge Juice W/A. I have had better luck with the Banks overall. Any Flash Programmer you install will leave a trace in the ECM, as it stores teh last 10 flashes and the aftermarket flash will not be a recognized flash in the system.

The Edge EVO seems to work well, has all the gauges and safety alerts that are good to have, but it doesn't shift on the fly, and leaves a footprint in the ECM.

I have sold a few Diablosport Tuners and have no bad feedback on them whatsoever, again will leave a trace.

I don't believe you will have the same luck you did with your 05 as far as not throwing a code, allthese tuners if ran on a high enough (read, high soot mass) level then you will eventually get a code to "clean particulate filter". I have seen it with every type of tuner.

So basically with a module all they can do is go on suspecion. With this said, is a flash programmer more likely to void my warranty? Seems like I had rather take a chance on one of the modules. I may try a banks this time. I have ran edge, bully dog, and superchips before, but I have never ran banks.

Basically that's the story, let me know if you need anything.
