Does anyone have a picture of where the CP3 is located?

In the valley of the motor at the front. You have to take quite a bit apart to get to it.

Is it possible to see if it's leaking without taking much apart? I smell fuel from the truck when it's warmed up but can't see any leaks. The smell is coming from the front center of the motor down inbetween the altenator and the A/C condenser.

No you couldn't see anything without taking quite a bit apart.

good brite light might get you a little better look. look down in front of the turbo and you will be able to see the valley, see if its damp or even wet. Take your time and look close.

I think it looks a little damp or theres at least some sort of residue down in there the little bit I could see. Guess I'll take it back to the dealer.

Decided to take it to the dealer and it turns out the injection pump is leaking. It's being fixed under warranty. Thanks for the help.

Are these prone to leaking in cold temps on the Duramax? Reason I ask is I see you're in Minn. and a co-worker of mine has his 06 Dodge in the shop for a leaking CP3 this week after a couple days of negative temps here in Ohio. The guy at the dealer told him it's a pattern failure in cold weather due to parts contracting enough to allow high pressure fuel blow around the o-rings. I realize the Dodge is a little different since the injection pump is hanging off the side of the engine, but it's basically the same Bosch unit. Just curious if I need to be checking my hot rod a little more closely.

I guess I don't know if it is common. Mine has been leaking for over a year now and it was just now found ... so it wasn't due to our recent cold snap.

That's good to hear. I didn't recall reading many trouble reports on here the past 3 years.
