I live in Iowa and it seems since its been cold enough outside to freeze my truck wont warm up above 160- 170. I park in my garage at night and it stays 40 degrees in there and it still wont warm up. The other day it was -30 outside all day long, so I left it running all day at work in fear that it wouldnt start and when I got off work, still at 165. I put the cold weather front on and still no difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, I have a winter front on too and it helps but nit really when it is that cold. There isn't really much you can do. Mine gets a little warmer than that , maybe you have a t-stat stuck open. Also fill out your signature so we know what mods, power adders you have so we can help you better.

Yeah, something is prolly restricting coolant. I'd start with a flush and change both t-stats.

If you are NOT using the winter covers and just driving around empty (no load no tow) it won't get very warm in the winter.

Even with the winter covers on, it takes 10 miles to get to 180F. Mines done that since new.

IMO, 160-170* in the winter is normal for an LB7 unloaded with the grill cover on. Mine very rarely gets above that temp.

You know what, I misread the post. I thought he said it is usually 40* and just hit -30* which didn't make much sense. I didn't realize that it was his garage that was 40, that really doesn't matter. Yeah, in below 0 temps, there's no way it's going to get any warmer. Heck, gas vehicles won't get much warmer at -30.
