update- i'm home now... i learned a few things: 1 never try a new programmer in the middle of nowhere on the coldest day of the year...aaa will never show up when they say they're gonna... and -11 is cold enough to die of exposure!
anyways, now i'm home and i have a dead truck in my driveway. it grabbed the stock program and while trying to load the new program, it said error and came up with 28 zeros. i have a "lock symbol" on the dash whenever i try to do anything. truck no start, and the screen froze at "confirming truck vin with stored vin" when i tried to return to stock. i tried disconnecting the batteries for a while, no luck. that's when i gave up and had to make a phone call. i don't know if ppe is open saturdays, anybody have a similar experience?

I know there is a way to force the stock program back in the truck. Mine did something simular when I had it awhile ago and thats what I had to do. Call Dan @ PPE and pm him also as he will get you fixed up!

all is well again. i'll say this: ppe dan is a class act! he was there bright and early on saturday to answer my phone calls. he was real patient and he seemed to really care about helping me get my truck running. he never tried to pass the buck or say it was my fault, or it was some other mods i had etc. turns out i had to update the xcelerator, as my truck was reflashed by the stealer in late december and the ppe program was from december 1. i wish it was like my hypertech and just wouldn't program if it didn't recognize the stock program, instead of crippling my rig. oh well, aaa covered the tow so the whole thing just cost me some time (and i lost some brownie points arguing with the 'ol lady in the cold). i am verrry satisfied with the ppe tune, i am running level 2 and my mpg's shot from about 15 to 21 on a 3 hour trip home from up north. the power is very crisp, kinda like a 2 stroke when it starts to lean out toward the end of a tank of gas. big thumbs up! only complaint would be some light up buttons, the light up screen is a huge plus over the hypertech!

i may take you up on that when i can afford a tranny and more rear tires! seriously, the tune is night and day better than the hypertech, makes more power right off idle and really screams when you put the boot to it. any feedback from people running ppe tunes and using the winterfront cover? the egt's haven't gone above 1100 even getting on it while towing up a hill. just wondering if i should be extra careful. thanks again!
