mine was taped to a black wire lume under the fuel filter area. I have an LLY though may be different but I bet its there.

As long as its above 10* or so, I wouldnt even use it. Below that, if you have the capability of plugging it in, you can...but its not the end of the world if you cant.

Ive started mine in -25* without being plugged in.

I just accessed mine this morning by reaching through the front passenger wheel well. It had a small zip tie holding it in that I cut so that I could extend it out of the wheel well. Probably should have seen if there was a different way but it was -5F and I was in no mood to stay out any longer than I had to. Not sure where/how I will secure it.

I'm hoping the heater saves me. I started up this morning and started to drive off then lost power and shut down. It would restart but only for a few seconds. I'm hoping it's just a fuel or coolant line frozen and hasn't done any damage.

X2 But it seems to help alot to plug it in even under 20*. Definetly would plug it in if it is below 0. Should be on inner fender pass. side aroud the big wire loom. Otherwise the element on the block is on the same side feel the side of the block and follow where the wores go.

To secure it, we run ours out the front of the truck. Sticks out just in front of the passenger side headlight.

The cab filter is below the jockey box - passenger side in the cab. A couple screws on the bottom are a little tricky but it's not a big problem to get them out. Owners manual should have a picture or directions,

X2. My truck came from Canada and then upstate New York so it was no problem finding the plug when I first popped the hood. I'm sure it got plenty of use.

Plugged it in this morning a half hour before starting the truck and didnt have any problems. Temp was minus 2.

Glad you found it. I had problem finding mine at first to, till I read it on this site and was wrapped in the loom under the filter.
