Took the truck in on monday and they did the reflash with the most current one to date ( from what the service writer told me). B4 the reflash the Edge on level 3 used to make the truck smoke pretty good when I would stomp on it from a stand still........Now it barely smokes at all....any ideas????

I think I posted about the same thing earlier. I too noticed more smoke on level 3 before the reflash, after the flash she burns alot cleaner! Don't know why, but def. runs better--no more juice knock!

I beleive that the reflash raises the common fuel rail pressure from 80 to 140 mpa (11000 psi to 21000) during medium and heavy throttle. This would help in atomizing the fuel and aid in a better burn which is why less unburnt fuel is coming out of the tail pipe.

I just got mine flashed because of the smoke at idle, I told the tech before hand, no cat, no egr, juice was still in, just so he would know why all the codes, it definity improved the smoke issue, Im not seeing anything even WOT, but there still is a little sure at slower speeds. Runs fine otherwise.

Throw a predator 40hp tune in and see if the smoke comes back with the Juice.

No he didnt really care, he just wanted to know why I unplugged the egr? He said by leaving it plugged in it should run leaner and get better fuel milage..I dont know....I said lets just leave it alone..lol, and he did. He also said with that massive exaust and the juice he would reccomend a better flowing air filter.

Oh well..thats cool then..right on..I"ll keep you guys posted when I take mine in.

If u had the juice off, did u recheck your settings after the reinstall?

Make sure the low fuel boost is on 5.

Mine still does the same smoke after the flash as before.

yeah low boost is on level 5..........the last few days it seems to be smoking a little more.....runs alot better though

Just got the reflash today. Only took about 20 minutes. Tech said there were quite a few updates. Truck was built in mid-December 2004. Edge updated to 1.2 helped quite a bit. Now with the new truck updates, there's almost no smoke, drivability increased significantly. Both updates were well worth it. I did take my juice out though, just to save the questions...
