well guys.. heres an update for ya,

after dumping the tank, dropping it, cleaning it dry, re-installing it and filling with fresh fuel with Diesel Clean, ran good for the first 1/2 tank, now im getting an additional code along with the original 251 and 370

P0606 = PCM fault

i cleared the 606, and it hasnt come back yet, but i only drove it for 25 mins since i cleared the code

what is my truck tryin to tell me?!?!?!?!?!!?

what am i missing? the new fuel is spotless, i just checked the fuel for water and air, and everything is good.. fuel is clean, and transparent yellowish

im also getting a loss of power and louder dieseling when on the codes, i.e.. same loudness when hot, as when cold

According to Heath P0251 and P0370 together points to a bad LP, or a dying one. My factory LP still pumped fuel out of the water drain and the truck never stalled with the T-valve open, but under WOT acceleration the psi output would hit 0 psi. With the LP its the PSI at WOT that matters, not so much the psi at idle.

The P0606 however i've never seen before. Although I was told that random codes can pop up. My scanner keeps telling me that i have a P0711(trans temp sender is bad), yet i look in the code books from GM for the 6.5 and that code doesn't exist and its only my scanner that gives this one. A tech II doesn't give it. Have you tried a different code reader to see if the 606 still shows up?

When the codes would come up on my truck, she'd rattle like all hell and have a loss of power. I'd clear the codes and she'd be fine until they came back up again. I believe the timing drops out when the P0251 pops up. It seemed that way in my truck whenever that code was present.

P0606 is internal ecm problem. Could be related to the cold. But maybe a good time to upgrade your ecm.

... he's probably scared shitless that he may have to squeeze an IP Repair into his winter finances....

A bad ECM would make all other codes irrelevent.

Anyone else have any info on PO606?

listen you!!! stop poking!!! lol:lol:

understatement of the year!!!!! ((so far))

but heres another update

i put 250 miles on the truck today, ALL HIGHWAY PULLING AN EMPTY TRAILER ONE WAY, AND 7K POUNDS ON THE RETURN

started right up this morning, codes present since yesterday (im assuming) let it warm up about 15 mins, and during warm up, i erased the codes, began my day, i knew immidiatly my truck was running normally by the power output, emptied the 1/3 i had in the tank, stopped and filled up in jersey,.. and yes!! i kept the receipt, looked, felt and even smelled the fuel i was pumping, 1/3 bottle of diesel kleen, continued on, several shut downs and restarts.. all went well, all day, great power, great fuel economy, immidiate starts, no hickups, no codes

so....

summation.. today was a good day!!

so im keeping my fingers crossed, tomorrow im putting another 600 miles on it going to MD and back, and hopefully it'll be like today, and in about a week ill look like this guy!!! > :coolnana::coolnana::coolnana:

also....
i asked locally about these codes as well, dealers are morons by the way, i had to explain to THEM what the 251 and 370 was.. anyway.. thats another topic, went to local diesel mechs, i knew what the 251 and 370 was all about, thanks to you guys, but the 606 threw me for a loop, and was told that the ECM, when receiving the same codes over and over, and over and over, the 251 and 370 in my case, and being cleared over and over, by me and my trusty scanner, will think the PCM is going and trigger a fault code so the dealer can check the pcm.. can anyone confirm this or even heard of this happening? it does sound kinda feasable to me, what do you guys think?
