Maybe one of you van guys can make input on this question for a pickup owner. Thanks in advance.

I've considered buying the BD - Power driver's side exhaust manifold for my pickup to eliminate the restriction of the stock manifold.

This modification is well documented on Diesel Place:

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/sho...anifold+change (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249248&highlight=manifold+change)

Recently, on another web site, I read a thread that implied that a Duramax Express/Savana Van driver's side exhaust manifold would fit the stock Duramax pickup and that it was less restrictive than the stock pickup manifold -- could be used instead of the BD - Power part for a better driver’s side exhaust flow..

The thread did not go into any detail: part numbers, what years, how much less restrictive and like that.

Has anyone heard of this modification or have any input on its feasibility?

I think it looks the same as the pickup one.
The setup on the 4500-5500 trucks is different

Joey D, thanks for the input.

Looks like I was off on a wild goose chase.

I'll try another post on the "Engines" Forum and see if any 4500 5500 truck guys have anything to say on this subject.

I think both sides are different as well as the pipes up to the turbo. Maybe a clearence issue with ussing them.
