I had an amp and some subs installed this weekend by a professional audio shop. Everything was working fine but on one occasion when I was playing the radio, had the door opened, and I tried to start the truck the radio stopped playing and my door dinger no longer works. The radio still iluminates but it no longer plays and my amp light doesn't come on. I checked some fuses under the hood and on the side panel and they looked good. Which fuse is associated with the dinger for the door when you leave your key in the ignition? Also, now when I turn the key to the run position the truck makes a clicking noise under the hood that I never noticed before. When I turn the ignition back off it sounds like a hydradulic type noice from under the truck, or maybe like starter trying to turn over.

Just feel lucky your dinger quit on its own:D. Lots of folks out here trying feaverishly to cut it off.

I wouldn't mind the door dinger not working if my radio and amp also worked. I am also worried about the truck making the wierd clicking noise before starting and the "release" sound when the ignition is turned off.

The dinger dings thru the driver's side tweeter in the A-pillar. Your installer apparently bypassed this. :ro)

No, it was working when I picked it up from the audio shop. I think it may be the remote wire to the amplifier that is not telling amp to turn on when the ignition is on. Doesn't the dinger work through the stock speakers? I am getting power to the amp, and I do have a solid ground connection. I also tried another amp, and it too does not work.

txguppy-My dinger came through the drivers side stock speaker, ls models don't have that little tweeter in the pillar. I got rid of it by installing an aftermarket stereo.

warning chimes work through the OEM radio.. If the radio is replaced, they have to put a control module in the radio harness to give you the warning chimes, and to controll power to the radio. Sounds like the harness may be loose or the new controll module failed..

02B12S-are you talking to me? I installed my stereo, and I tore the wires off the speaker in my module on purpose so I wouldn't have a damn dinger.
Bigshrimpah-part of what is confusing people I think is you don't specify if you have an aftermarket stereo, or just subs hooked to the stock deck. If you have an aftermarket deck, then like 02B12S said, the module might be messed up. If you still have the stock deck then perhaps the way they hooked the wire to turn the amp on into it caused problems. Some stereo shops don't know how to work with the data bus wiring systems in the 03-up trucks. I would suggest you take it back to them and tell them what happened and see what they think.
