: Any more LLY edge stacks/numbers???
05LLY2500HD 04-02-2005, 10:17 PM It seems the power and performance section has been a lil dry for us LLY guys. I need more power, more fast. I HATE the 180* on the edge.Pi***s me off. Thinking of either predator, for instant power; or propane to satisfy me until I reach 180*.
Any new numbers? or any info you wanna share? Let's stray away from Nitrous for now, shall we?

I have not tried any stacks on the LLY yet. They can get pretty wacky. It is hard to beat the Predator performance to price ratio. If you have a built tranny the 100 tune pulls pretty strong:

My stock baseline on that run was 247 HP and 447 TQ. A gain of 152 HP and 382 TQ. Plus getting the scan tool functions, speed limiter defeat and tire/speedometer adjust is a great bonus. :ro)
dieselrcr337 04-02-2005, 10:49 PM I feel the some way. I cant make power. Im almost tempted to get an LB7. I have tried too many things spent too much Money.

Okk maybe that's not funny.
BMDDMAX,
impressive, 152 rear wheel hp from predator only???? If that's the case I may be buying one REAL soon, see how it runs with the edge.even if I use edge just for guages.

Predator 100, SC Stage V and Kennedy Diesel 4/5 exhaust. EGR blocked with a plate.
That's it. No mystery mods, no fuel system changes, no intake changes, nada, zippo, zilch.
It seems to compare with some other dyno sheets I have seen for the tune on other trucks, maybe 10 ponies or so higher. That might be due to the 2WD. I do like the Predator, so far the only nag I have is the very sensitive pedal response.
LBZ DMAX 04-02-2005, 11:44 PM My numbers from just the banks are in my sig. But the predator is the best bang for the buck. I have ran the predator in my truck and the peddle is a little touchy, but feels more powerful than the banks. I need a built tranny so I can stack the both(tried it, ally didn't likey too much with banks lvl6/pred.40). Feels powerful though!
McRat 04-03-2005, 07:56 AM You can stack into the ~440 range with off-the-shelf parts.
Edge is coming out with a Hot Juice for LLY's.
TTS will have an Extreme for the LLY's.
Once you breech 400HP, you will start to run into fueling problems, and you are past the point of what is OK on a stock trans.
And yes, as of today, an LB7 will make about 40rwhp more than you.
Good news? If you decide to add injectors, they are far easier to get to. The VVT is capable of a wider powerband than the LB7.
McRat 04-03-2005, 08:00 AM PS - Bang for the buck, get a Predator. You will need a code reader anyways. Buy it "just to remove the speed limiter" and see how long it takes before you start loading the "100HP" tune. It's not 100HP.:D
Also your LLY Edge can be sent in to upgrade to the latest version and "Hot" version.
Carbon04 04-03-2005, 11:17 AM Do all LLY's bring in the peak torque that "late" in the RPM band? On the graph above it shows a peak torque at 2500ish. Seems high compaired to an LB7

I believe i already need a lift pump of some sort, I think I'm throwing the 1093 code(no light) So I am still trying to decide on the "right" pump setup.
I think I have the breathin' and tranny takin care of.
You all really got me hooked, at least I'm hooked on something I love:D
Next thing, we'll be adding wings and charging admission fees.:ro)
tbyrne 04-03-2005, 09:22 PM The Predator is by far the most popular hand held tuner that we carry. You get a whole bunch of features in one unit at a very reasonable price! Plus as mentioned, their ratings tend to be a little conservation :)

The 1093 will definitely produce a check engine light. I set off the 1093 in the morning on my way to the track. Read code, cleared and kept on truckin!
gmccall 04-04-2005, 09:05 AM There is a reason for the Edge 180° protection, but you could add a Bully dog or such to get the "instant" hp below 180°. BD or Quad offers some good features.

I have never set a light off, but what the victims of the 1093 are saying is EXACTLY what happens to me. Not always but when I merge onto the interstate and get on it, engine goes into "limp mode" I assume, it won't go above 2k rpms, and no power at all. I have to pull over and cycle the key.

This is just speculation, but maybe the Edge is detecting something fishy and backing down power???? :confuzeld According to Banks, the six-gun will do that. Funny though, I have yet to set off a six-gun code.
LLY DMAX 04-05-2005, 11:50 AM I've been hearing allot about the 1093 code on the LLY.
Maybe one answer for us LLY power junkies is this.
Set the power level of the fueling boxes just under where it will set the code.
Then add Propane to get you the extra power. Since it is a fuel that the PCM doesn't have control over...
Just a thought...

I'm running the LLY VanAken and have set the code off twice, exact same symptoms and never got a check engine light either. Turn truck off, back on again and everything is fine.
Brayden 04-05-2005, 10:55 PM I think the Cali trucks set the SES light on most every code. The fed emissions trucks won't set the SES but will log the code. I get 1093's all day long on my LLY and it does not light the SES.
Dmax Tim 04-06-2005, 06:56 AM I've been getting the limp w/o any SES lites.
Running juice any different levels.
Put in a new fuel filter and haven't had any trouble since.
BTW my juice is getting upgraded and they lowered the engine temp and give 50% power @ lower temp.
