I assume your truck is a duramax?

I have the Predator, works great, reads and clears DTCs, read realtime data, several power settings, adjust for tire size changes, adjust top speed limiter, just to name a few things.
cant say much about the fuel mileage as i havent been able to keep my foot out of it.

Gonzo,

I'm interested in the same question. Just want better mileage if possible. If I get an increase in 2 mpg, over 100,000 miles, I'll save $1800 at the going rate of diesel. I'm happy with the power at the present level, although it would be nice to have more power when needed (when I want it).

If you are going for better mileage only... I would say pick up the cheapest tuner you can find. That will save you even more. Last time I check Superchips were going for 240 on ebay pretty regularly. I paid about 100 more for my diablo on ebay. I love it. Absolutely love it. I wish I could make a little bit more smoke to blow on the damn ricers. Those punks are everywhere these days. I'm not talking about the full blown ones either. Just the cavaliers with the picnic tables bolted to the trunk. I can't say I like the full blown ones much better but at least they can run.

Anyway, back to your topic... Any of the tuners set on the lower settings will give you a pretty good boost in power and mileage.

I have mine set on 85hp, it moves for sure. If I keep off the throttle and drive halfway normal (75 mph) I've noticed a gain of 2 mpg.

Yes it is a Duramax. Started hailing tuesday, so I thought it looked like a good time to get fuel under a roof. Another duramax pulled up so asked him how he liked it. He said he had a Bully Dog and he was getting 18 in town and 24 going 80mph down the interstate. It was an '01 or an '02. Is this possable? I'm getting 14mpg in town and 18 to 20mpg out on the highway.

Probly should ask if all these mpg numbers are from the DIC or if they are hand calculated.

He never said. Saw a bigger exhaust on the truck when I was leaving.

Man, what a site. I have been reading so many threads. Literally eating popcorn, pop, ice cream, sandwiches, etc. while on the puter. That Allison thread was long, I think 16 pages.

Empty, I only get about 15.5 mpg (hand calculated). My dad has a 2002 Dura/6-spd 3500 standard cab, and he gets I think 18-20(hand calculated), both of our vehicles stock, and we both drive gingerly, like old men, which he is and I'm getting there. Last fall, I pulled a 26' enclosed car trailer with load 1600 miles, mostly interstate, and I think I got 12 mpg.

Hmm, it's a tuff call. I was thinking about the edge, and even a tranny upgrade. I don't know now.

Any increased fuel economy will result in savings that I could justify, in my head, to spend now to upgrade the power and possibly the tranny durability. I've got too many other toys I waste money on.
