Anyone ever tried one of those tornado things, haven't really considered it myself, but if some people told me some good stories i might see how much one costs.

from what ive heard they dont do much, test results on box are doctored. useless on a diesel, air's spun by turbo. i think theyre under a $100.

Just send me your money and be done with it, then see what improves on your truck... Nothing, just an empty hole in your wallet...

Adding intake restriction adds nothing in the way of HP or mileage.

Even on gas engines where better fuel atomization can improve performance, the Tornado does nothing.

OPPPSS!! I take that back. One of my friends put one on his Camaro (I tried to talk him out of it) and it did nothing on the dyno, but at the dragstrip it nearly killed him, as something got stuck in his throttle body and the car was stuck WOT.

Just send you're money to Nick to keep this site up and running. It's not wasted that way.

Well I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and here is their reply:

" We have no test results for the 2004 trucks, but these do work well on turbo charged engines. You install the unit after the turbo charger and it swirls the turbo charged air going into the engine. Not much to it, but it does work well. You have a 120 day 100% money back guarantee so if you aren't satisfied with it you can send it back. "

So I said...WTH....so I ordered one from their site and getting it for $50. I'm made of money so I will see. Think I'd might be sending that baby back.

BTW, Airaid sells a similar product for about $95 but to me looks like it restricts due to the circumference of the product. So I passed on it.

So call me DUMB. Just like trying things out.

Bodysurfer, i am not made of money, but i am with you, i am always up for trying new things. I kinda figured i would be laughed at for thinking about it, but at least you tried it out and got a real answer instead of just assuming it was a gimmick.

Vettelovralexand, thanks for the compliment. Well, will we see. Should have it by Wednesday. I readly dont care if it turns out not the help. I will just send it back since they have 120 day 100% guarantee. I will post any info, mpg/power, here when I get some results back.

Bodysurfer:

Sure will be interested in the results - and NO BS out of it - cuz Nick wil tell us where you live. I have a friend that has one on his 03 dmax - he claims is makes a huge difference. Personally, I think he's smoking crack - but we'll see what you find out. Do you currently log your mileage/fuel purchases pretty religiously?

or are you going to judge this by "seat of the pants"?

I put a throttle body space in my 5.3 Avalanche, actually made a diff, made a whistling sound like a turbo, and gave a little more low end..

Well its out for delivery this morning. Should have it soon. We'll see just how good their product works. If not, then it's going back. No big deal to me since they have 120 day $ back. Like I said before, $ not a big problem for me since it only cost about $50 or so. Just like to test it and give me opinion on it back to the makers, whom I have a contact there.

Stay tune for updates....

This product has been tested on the dyno on gas engines-there was no gain in horsepower or torque.

I dont really expect much of anything....just like hammering product makers who make claims about their products. But you cant say much if you havent ordered and used it.

No sweat on me !!!

Okay, its in and I do have to say it does look somewhat restrictive but what the hell.....gotta try it out. Ran it out and the truck seems to have a little extra get-up-and-go but who knows...could be just like when you wash your truck and it seems to run better. Now just got to fill the truck up and see about the mpg.

I know you might be thinking, "That guy is dumb for buying that thing". But like I said before, "just like hammering product makers who make claims about their products. But you cant say much if you havent ordered and used it."

I am running the airaide spacer and from what I have noticed is throttle responce seems quicker and when I have my boost turned up on the E/A to number 5 I cant get as much black smoke as I used to. So wouldnt that leed one to believe that it is burning the fuel better? I really didnt notice much diff in mpg I get around 16 mpg a tank and that includes a trip up in the bighorns mt once a week.

Soon, give me a couple more days for the mpg. I do feel a little more throttle reponse but could be something else....not saying it works or who knows. I am feeling better response.

Will post my "by-hand" mpg in a couple of days when I fill it up. I dont have the steering wheel buttons.
