What do I need to do to make me a good set of traction bars for pulling drag racing etc. What kind of materials. How long. Where to mount them etc.
I would like to make my own to save money but if i can buy some that are strong and cheap i would probably go that route. And what else do you think i need to do to the suspension to drag race other than tie rods and center link. Do i need to do something with my torsion bars because they are cranked up.
Do i need to do something with my leaf springs they are stock.
And for sled pulling where do you mount the blocks so you can lock the rear end stiffer than a board. and what would i go about using for that.
P.S. I have a Extra cab short bed

Don't they slip on the axle since their not welded on and are clamped on. Can normal driving people run these that would sled pull not all the time? How hard are they to install

Take a look at this site: http://www.hotrodsandhemis.com/traction1.html
Looks like a bit of work but if you are able you can save 339.00 plus shipping for a set of Caltracs.

Caltracs :ro)

Installation difficulty would depend on ones skills. I can e-mail a few pictures of my install for interested parties. For me and my son it was time consuming.

Bars took away the axle rap and bunny hop off the line. I like um real well.
