Hi

Today I had a small problem with my truck. After driving for half and hour, I stopped to the convenience store for a few things, came out 5 minutes later and took off. Bam! The truck was hesitating and smoking black bluish smoke. I pulled over, played with the throttle a bit, it wasn't doing any good. No lights came on. I tried looking up for any codes on my Edge Insight and no codes were there. I turned off the truck, started the truck again and everything was fine. I seemed like the exhaust wasn't doing the typical noise "vaynes" at idle. Were they stuck?

Today was about 10 degrees outside (canada).

Here are my mods, Quad 70 Dpf Delete, S&B Intake, Mbrp exhaust.

Could it have been water in my fuel or just bad fuel? Should I investigate this more?

I drove the truck after for another half an hour and got it to idle for 10 minutes and the problem didn't come back.

Thanks for your help.

Eric

Was it snowing? Raining? Etc? Recently filled up? How many miles on your truck? When's the last time you changed the fuel filter, or has it been? Chris

Hi

It was Sunny. I have 10 000 miles on my truck and it's the original fuel filter. I havn't fueled up for a week and did not use any additives.

Possibly fuel related right?

The filter needs changed and you should always run some sort of an additive like Stanadyne or Amsoil diesel concentrate as a preventative measure.

I changed my fuel filter at 10K miles, DIC said I still have 57% life left, but it was night and day difference after changing. There is a DIY thread here that has a writeup on how to change it yourself, easy 20 min. job, saves you a hundred $$ or so. Take off the fenderwell, much easier to do from the side. Chris
