: Any Way To Disable Auto Door Locks?

I just bought a 05 SLT GMC Sierra and you have the option in the menus to have the doors lock when you put it in gear, or after 5 sec delay after putting it in gear. But No Option to not lock at all. This ticks me off. I own a 03 GMC Denali and it has an option to turn Auto Locking Off. Why not this truck? Anyways, is there any way to bypass this or load software to get the option to Not have the doors lock?
P.S. Dear GM, If I want my doors locked, I will lock them myself!!!!:mad:
maybe this is a Califorrnia thing only, there all screwed up out here...

If you set it up to lock when you put it in gear and unlock when you put it in drive, What's the big deal? You can't exactly hop out of the drivers seat with the truck in gear, and you don't want people to bail out while you're going down the highway.

How do you know I don’t want people bailing out when I am going down the Highway? What about the crazed turkeys or the deranged car jacker, after filling em full of holes I might want to kick em out the door and I cant. Which brings me to.....? Anyone know of an aftermarket ejection seat I could put in the passenger side):h

I think the bottom line of this is. Like in my 03 <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place>Denali</st1:place>, I can program it to do what ever I want. Its called a choice. If I want it to lock when I put it in gear I had the option to program it to do it. I don’t have the option now. I would like to have the Choice to select what I want. Not what some lawyer working for GM recommends they should do to stop lawsuits. I see lots of people saying that I will get used to it or its better so you don’t get car jacked. Let me make that decision. Not GM
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p>:rant: </o:p>
OK, Im better now!):h <o:p></o:p>

DOGOFDEATH,
if you choose to have an issue with your door locks locking or unlocking, that's a problem you need to direct to GM, Please save your rude comments (about CALIFORNIANS being all screwed up) to yourself, we don't need the disrespect on these posts!!!!! If you choose to be disrespectful, join another post arena to express your rudeness.

I think he was referring to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Cali</st1:place></st1:City> trucks not the people, of course i may be wrong

Wow did you over-react to something that was not even directed at anything specific. Notice he said out here, as in, he is in ca. Maybe he just meant you have a lot more carjackings and whatnot out there. Or perhaps there are more lawyers that like to sue for stupid things. You know, like what we hear about on the news every day. It's not like he said anything specific, or called your momma ugly. Calm down. Seriously, 5 exclamation points?

I gotta admit, out here in Kali-fornia - there's a bunch of fruits & nuts, what aren't, are flakes.

'Course there are some of us out here with good 'ol common sense that don't suffer from a serious case of 'cranial rectosis.' When someone does suffer from such a debilitating disease, it sure shows in the way they post on the forum.

Can't say go as far as saying I "hate" anyone just because of their geological location though.
