Got any codes or a SES?

What happened prior to this situation starting? Did you fuel up or was it extremely cold last night?

Need some more info in order to help.

Any diesel fuel in the engine oil?
Many tick though on driver side. Some more or less or none. Can depend on engine oil for some.

I'd try your response again because I could not follow it at all. Can I get a interpreter here?

Try the following in order:

Try adding some PUNCTUATION.
Try adding a quart of Power Service Diesel Kleen to your tank.
Go ahead and change your fuel filter.Quite often adding the Diesel Kleen will clean things up sufficiently... but you may have picked up some funky fuel... thus the fuel filter. I usually go about 12-15k between fuel filters; others only go 6k-8k between fuel filter changes.

The most important one though is #1...

sorry about that. I was just saying i just changed my fuel filter on the motor but not the ones on the fass pump. Those filters have been on there for about 10,000 miles maybe a little more.My biggest concern is the ticking noise and they way the engine is running along with the puffs of smoke at idle.

Ticking may be normal. Mine does and many others do. Mine ticks more after an oil change and less the older the oil gets. For the smoke it might be an injector out. Then to goto dealer and have a balance rate run on them for that. You could find someone in your area with EFILive. It can help see balance rate as well.

i am just worried about runnin it like that cuz with my efi tune i have it shifting at 4000 rpm. But the ticking noise is pretty loud and abnormal its not really constant, i really thought about a fuel knock especially if i got a bad injector but i wouldnt think that a fuel knock would be this loud

Easiest way to tell is to add some of that Diesel Kleen stuff.

I may have fixed the injector problem by using the ice pick trick not sure will find out soon but i did find out where that ticking noise is coming from. I am pretty sure the noise is coming from where the torque converter and the flexplate meet. Did anyone else have the same type of tick using a triple disk converter or have any ideas why it is making the noise

I had a loud knocking noise last year. Let a tech at my dealer here it and he said it was fuel knock. I took it to a local shop that someone told me about and had them reflash it back to stock and add all the missing updates and sure enough the noise went away in a couple of days.
