I live in Vancouver and am looking to replace my computer with a reprogram one. Only problem is all the sites are in the US. I don't want to order one, then send them mine across the border to get my core back. We have a local BD diesel here and they will sell me a reprogram computer for my 96 over the counter with no core if I bring them my computer. I don't know who does the programming for them but they said it gives me a realistic power gain of 30 hp.

Anyone buy this from BD before? I like to know if it's worth the money. I can get it for $739 can.

I ran BD computer for a while, did not like it for gains vs cost, check to see who's tune they are using if Z Ind still, it's a marginal power gainer for S engine truck, almost no gain for F engine trucks.

Westers is Canada I believe, CR likes his, I like my Heath he sells in Canada, some like JK's best, I think he also can sell in Canada, and SS Diesel may also have an offering.

I too have heard that BD's chip make a marginal difference. Notice the wording of the text on DSG's website? Very similar to that of BD's website so it seems that they are talking about the same programming. Of course I can't really talk since I have used neither but I am looking into Heath's.

Their prices are a little on the steep side, even with the exchange rate....

Genesis of reflashes is that originally there was only 1 OBD II reflash program Z industry regardless who sold it.

Westers sold by various vendors, I think JK's is a Wester plus some custom JK stuff to the tune

Heath's which is not a Wester tune, tune source has not been relaesed.

See if whoever you check with will say who programmed it

I own a BD reflash on my 97 f motor and did notice a very good seat of the pants difference over the stock f pcm. For that matter I am sure there are much better reflashes, but doesn't that make you want to see a true dyno comparison of the reflashes if I noticed a seat of the pants increase? I would love to see a dyno comparison of different reflashes on the same truck on a dyno!

This is great info guys. What I didn't realize is Heath is in WA state. I emailed them to see if I can go down there and just swap computers over the counter and avoid the core. If all goes well I'll get one when I head down to Seattle later this month for the Supercross.

My Heath 2.0 was a night and day difference. Felt like I added 2 more cylinders to my engine, can't say enough about his products and service.

I noticed a pretty good gain with my 94 and the BD chip installed. I do agree that they are a bit steep though.

I've heard you have to resist the MAp to make higher boost with the BD. From where I'm standing their chip looks like the worst out there.

Although Westers is my first and only reflash i can say there was a very noticable difference and after talking with Lyndon and where he sends his flashes to you may be getting the same product from other venders.
