Hello everyone, just registered to this forum. I've got an 03 with a front leveling kit and a 1in block in the rear. I am looking at getting some 17's and was wondering how big a tire I could put on there. I wouldn't mind if I had to trim either.
Thanks,
Chris

Hello Chris-
Welcome to the boards!
With a leveling kit, you'll be able to clear 33" tires. I personlly like the way a 9" wide wheel with a -12 offset looks mounted with 33" tires. This is a popular set up but looks agressive.
I hope this information helps! Let me know how I can assist you further.

What does the offset refer to, and what size is a 33inch?

From the center of the wheel, the offset determines the location of the mounting pad, positive or negative. The lower the offset the more the wheel pushes out from the vehicle. The higher the offset, the more the wheel tucks in. Simply put, it helps figure the backspacing of the wheel. The chart below should help with visuals.

When I mentioned 33", I was reffering to overall rolling diameter. An actual tire size would be a 33x1250-17. Tire size, wheel width, along with offset and backspacing, play an important roll in proper fitment.
I hope this makes more sense.

That helps, but I am looking for a fitment size to help me. ie like 275/70/17. I don't know how big to go for the middle number and would prob lean on the smaller width tirer so as to avoid rubbing issues.

You could always run a 285/70-17. Here's a tire size calculator you can use to compare the different sizes.

You may want to take a look at wheel options first. Your wheels are going to help dictate what tire you should run. Here's a link with all the wheel options we have for your vehicle.
