You guys that run At's in summer and mudd's in winter or vice versa, what is the deal? How long have some of you been running this type of set up? I know I like both mud and at's it would probably be a mood thing for me...
Like change?
Board?
Better traction for the seasons?

I run AT KOs year round as I'm too lazy to switch them up the weather here is good. What I will say is while MTs are great in the mud, they don't handle snow as well as ATs.

i have to disagree with that. i run bfg mudders year round. but i used to run A/T's. the a/t's wouldnt go anywhere if there was snow on the ground. now i can go anywhere in snow as long as its not hitting my bumper. even then i can push a little bit of snow til it really starts pileing up.

I think it depends on the make of A/T tire you are using. I've run Muds and A/T's in the snow and I have found, at least around town, the A/T worked better in the snow. I would say that if you're off road in deep snow the mud would probably be better, but that would also depend on the type of mud tire you are using. I don't think there is one tire that works great in all conditions and that includes wearability.
I'd agree in part with all of you. I run 315/70/17 BFG AT's. They work great in the snow but I know the fat tire floats and a narrower tire would give me even better traction in snow. Mudders work well in deeper snow. A soft compund mudder or one that has been sipped would do better in hard pack or low snow amounts. My old bias mudders were worthless in less than 4" of snow. Over that holy cow!

I run 35-14.50 swamper SSR's in the summer
33-10.50 bgf A/T's in the winter on my stock wheels.
I do it mostly to keep my Weld wheels from getting eaten up by all the salt but the A/T's are amazing when there is like 5"s or less, anything over that and you can forget it. Two winters ago we had 28"s and with the swampers there was no stoping it...I went everywhere.
I had BFG MT's for a long time also and they work really well year round but I will give AT's the upper hand with a few inches and less...work really well on ice.
