Hi folks, I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I am in the process of buying a 2000 model GMC 3500 Reg cab Flatbed dually, and it has a vortec 350 and is auto with I am guessing is 4.10 gears -(I havent checked yet), but it pulls like it has them. But I need to know what the Horsepower and torque ratings were for that engine in 2000? Also if you know any tow ratings for it I would appreciate it..Stu

I thought that they were rated at 255hp and 335ft-lbish in those years.

My 1998 GMC half ton short bed reg cab was 255hp and 330ft-lbs of torque, and I'm pretty sure this was the same rating in the 3/4 tons and bigger. Your 2000 should have the exact same rating. I'm pretty sure GM's were 270hp in 99' when they first introduced the 5.3. The 5.3 was, and is, a great motor, but I can honestly say my 5.7 would out pull a 5.3 up a hill with a trailer on. Unloaded was a different story.:)
