: Anyone in the SW Ohio, SE Indiana or NE Kentucky are willing to help
kimagine 03-31-2005, 10:06 PM Hey Guys,
If there is anyone in the are that has any free time this weekend, I would really appreciate it. I think I am going to need some assistance installing a timing gear set and all of the goodies that go along with it.
I have never done this before, especially on a diesel but need to get it done this weekend due to possible loss of engine due to chain breakage(not broken yet, just really worn).
For anyone that can help, I will have plenty of beer and food or soft drinks for those who don't drink.
I have all of the parts and fluids that are supposed to go along with it.
I have a schematic and the Chiltons book to try to get it done, but would love the assistance of someone/ or more that have experience doing this.
I believe I have all of the tools needed and alot of prayer to get the job done.
If anyone can help, please let me know. You may PM or e-mail me and I will give my number out in order to confirm directions, etc....
Thank you,
Mark

BornReady6.5 04-01-2005, 12:30 AM Bring it to Arizona and we can do it in my shop. I have a killer shop that would make easy work of that project. We could do it next to my cummins/blazer project. By the way, i see you have a 93....you wouldnt have access to a 93 6.5 turbo diesel 4L80E stand alone computer and wiring harness do you? I need one to make my 4L80E work behind my cummins. Anyway, sorry I am not closer to help...sounds like fun.

Thanks for the offer and I really wish I could come out to the shop and do it considering it is supposed to snow tonight and I have to get this done this weekend in order to not lose my engine.
In regards to the comp and wiring harness, I may have someone, he states he has and can get the ecm's and tcm's for the GM trucks easily. Not sure if I hold him true to his word but it can't hurt to check it out. If his number is still the same, I'll try it tomorrow and let you know.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the thought. I did not want to try to push anyone that was not interested by utilizing the PM. I just figured with a thread and a prayer I might get someone that may be available.
I also realize that this was short notice but the truck has gotten to the point that I can't wait anymore. Too many symptoms that are pointing at the chain breaking and in no way can afford a new/rebuilt engine and without my truck, I make no money.
I have just put a bathroom renovation on hold until Monday due to the truck and my wife and I going through a miscarriage.
Thanks,
mark

Wester's sells the stand alone ECM for the '93 4l80E with performance shift points.
I'd love to help mark, but I'm way down south.

QM,
I know, you're always looking for a new project:ro)
Cuts and such must have healed by now:lol:
This was the project I wanted to come down there for but now can't wait.
Time to head back out side to work.
Talk to you later,
Mark
