Exauhst Q:

What is the stock diameter of the LB7 front pipe? Is it 3"? At some point, when I have money, I would like to get some kind of 4 or 5" exauhst, such as MBRP, or the Jegs/Summit 5", however, I would like to get an LB7 front pipe (for $125ish, IIRC) earlier than that (I won't be able to afford anything good for a while). Ideally, I would like the ability to bolt the kitty back on if I ever need to. If the LB7 pipe is 3", would it make any difference weather it (the pipe) was 4" from the front, or 3" to the flange, then opened up to 4" or 5"?

Gauge Q:

I want to get a boost gauge eventually. What is the best "permanent" place to put the boost sender? Pre IC or Post? I prefer the drill and tap permanent installs, and have heard of people putting htem in the inake manifold. I was thinking right above the EGR valve.

Also, I had been trying to think of a possible third gauge to put in, and I was just thinking that a post intercooler air charge temp gauge might not be a bad idea... What do you think?

Hammer,

The front pipe/cat section is 3.5, we have pipes in 4.0 mandrel that bolt right in if you want in stainless and aluminized.

Hammer?

I didn't realise you had just the front pipe... When the funds are available, I will be definatley be ordering one from you. That's a good price, IMO, over the LB7 3.5" for about the same. Do you happen to have local pickup available? IF you do, and IF I have the funds and IF I drive (not fly) to NC in May, I would pass right by Nashville.

Do you thinkg there is any benefit to 5" over 4", or is it negligable? If there is no real difference (or if at the time you have a 5" system), further down the road I'll have to get the rest of the system from you as well.

Well, I always got one of those...):h I had the Banks Big Head waste gate installed and it comes with a boost port built in, so I get the reading right at the gate. Seems to me the intake manifold would be a different boost reading from what you are actually making at the turbo. I think that the use of the boost guage would be used to save the turbo and the boost reading at the manifold wouldn't be a true reading of pressure...due to intercooler function. Just my opinion.
