new around here... but i'm glad this place excists.. i'm glad i've finally found a forum full of people who know what they're talking about.. and i know how much of a pain in the ass it is when people repost previous questions.. but i've done some serious digging re read a whole lot of the forum.. and haven't founda lot of straight out answers

so if you don't mind i'm going to ask them again, and if people want please help me out..

Ok i understand the principles of HP and how to get and i understand its relation in the diesel world. however i don't know exactly how to apply it..

I realize that i can get more boost from my turbo (1997 6.5 TD) but it will throw a code, i'm currently finishing up my home made "turbo master" and i'm install my boost and egt gauges this weekend after they've sat around for 7 months

so questions: the boost fooler resistor trick.. how exactly is it done? (DIY not buying the parts)

also the stanadyne fuel calibration resistors.. what exactly do they change? pressure? volume? timing? and why is 9/10 the max? can anyone tell me the resistance of a #9 resistor?

what is the best/easiest/most efficient way to get more fuel into the engine. does the DS4 pump need to be replaced? (this is not something i want to hear yes to since i just bought a new one)

what is the max boost an 6.5td with stock internals can handle? or what is the max the GM8 can put out?

Is a reflash of the ECM the only way to change the rev limited / max speed?

and what effect does just unplugging the vacuum line off the waste gate have? because i know the Ford PS guys swear by it, and even the Edge Juice (for dmax) suggests doing it.

Thanks, and i apologize for such a huge plate of questions...

I'm glad i've found you guys

Brian have you visited FAQs and welcome notes, not that I don't want to answer directly but a lot of this info has been already covered, in Welcome notes and FAQs start there and if you don't find answers then come back to the main forum here. Search engine tool work well also.

ok if you pull the vac line you will have no boost
the #9 resistor has a resistance of 80'000 ohms i do not know the resistance of any of the other #s and it increases the fuel deliverey 6% over a #5 that acording to stanadyne
