Not for nuthin, but if you have to ask where the fuel pump is, you probably shouldnt be messing with the settings. Not trying to be a 'jerk' here....

I'd have to second that - the fuel pump is down on the passenger-side front, below the exhaust manifold.

Near's Ic'n remember, you have to turn it down - if you turn it up, it won't fit.

I do believe he was refering to the INJECTOR pump.
On my '82 3/4T 2wd I set the the timing after 3 months of trial & error and
there was another mechanic here messing with his '85 'burbon. Although we both had J series engines of close to the same year, I NEVER could get ANY dang HP gains, no matter where it was set. But I did manage to get it to average 19-21 mpg when it was set at factory spec's. (He's got my book still, and I can not remember what that is.) However, on HIS, we both felt a "seat of the pants dyno" gain at 2 degeree (before manufacturer's spec.) advance. And he averaged 17-18mpg. His 0-60 time dropped from 16.9 sec to 16.2 sec. But, oddly, his 0-40 time he said was more than 2 seconds faster.

PS: Injector pump is on top of motor, between air cleaner and fan. Easy to see and get to.

PSS: my truck was set up with loc-right locker, 3.70's, and 255/85/R16 tires.:grd:
