what is everyones thoughts on turning a 6.5 crank? i remember a shop in houston that offers a 3 year warranty on their turned 6.5 cranks just tring get ideas

I sent my crank out to be checked all they said it needed was to be polished. I dont rember the price at this time.

i heard some talk it is a waste to turn these cranks it takes the tempered out of them some is this true? if not i junked few returnedable cranks

Well personally I would never run a turned down crank on anything, but that's just me. I would also be worried about removing the hardening process from the crankshaft. Also machine work around here is an arm and a leg, so if I were to get one I would go for a Scat crankshaft just because they aren't that expensive.

nothing wrong with turning a otherwise good crank,unless you wanna build a rat motor.
i got one in my 89 with 60 k on it and it gets used hard.
