For you guys that have had a vehicle in for warranty work, what kind of courtesy transportation did you get. If they reimbursed you for a rental, how much did you get per day? Also did you pay out of pocket then they give you a check. My tranny went out in my truck and it will be at the dealer for a while. I have never had to deal with this before and was wondering how it went.

My local dealer in Show Low Az makes arrangments with the rental car company and I don't pay a thing. I've had cars, suv's, and small trucks over the years. Now when the Ford dealer has my Lincoln, they will take me home or show me how to use my thumb.

usually if your vehicle is tied up for more than 1 day the rental would covered

Ditto on above. I've had mine in a few times, If its over a day, they set me up with a rental. But it is always a little pisser car. But it is better than nothing I guess.

Talk to your dealer - they all seem to handle it differently... Tell them you're going to be out financially without transportation and see what they'll do.
Some are GREAT and others make you think the service writer themselves are paying for the cars they make such a big deal of it.

GM standards are if the vehicle will be down for more than a 24hr period...the customer is to be supplied with a rental/loaner free of charge until the vehicle is completed. Note: any insurance us wish to take out on the rental is on your own accord.

I had my truck in for warranty work about 3 weeks ago and the enterprise rental place at the dealer said I was covered for up to $43 dollars a day. That would have covered a truck but they said they didn't have any available. I only had a choice of a malibu or an hhr.

I dropped my truck off Saturday after the service dept. closed. The salesman and dealership owners son gave me an 08 Chevy Trailblazer to drive that was on their lot.
Truck went there for raw fuel smell in front of truck, Steering will not turn when extremely cold and clearcoat flaking off rims.
Truck has 49,000 miles and I did purchase the 7yr/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warrenty.
