Just the other day, and more noticable today, at WOT, my truck seems to sputter and have a hard time keeping up with the pedal. Seems that the car shakes a bit, makes funny sounds with the exhaust and smokes alot. It does this with Pred, Juice, Pred/Juice stack, AND stock..

Anyone have clue what it could be?

How many miles on the fuel/air filters?

Current mileage is approx: 13000, give or take, changed the fuel at 9000-10000 to a parker/racor filter from Greg at lube specialist, Air filter is a AFE 2, put in at about 7000 or so..

Might change out the fuel filter again to test it..

I have a good feeling that it's your fuel filter.

Hope its as simple as that.. socaldieseltech/Mike L both feel the same way.. so I just went out and am going to change the fuel filter right now.. Literally

Just took care of the filter, sputter/stutter is still there at high boost/WOT. Also put back the stock intake because the AFE was a little dirty, and same effect.

When at WOT, the muffler sounds REALLY loud, like its trying to spit out more air than it can handle. Do these symtoms ring a bell for anyone?

Guess I am the first one to report having this problem..

Anyways, here's the scoop so far, after numerous phone calls with socaldieseltech (Clyde), we are leaning towards a problem with the turbo, because it sounds KIND of like a bark, but isn't.. So far, it seems that there is a possibility the vains are not opening all the way, or are stuck open. Based on this theory, I went out to dinner and decided to mash the pedal on and off, making hard boost then low boost, to work the vains out.

*PRESTO*

Seems as the turbo is spooling up correctly now and no more sputtering.. Now this is only preliminary, still going to have some of our techies check it out, but I think the findings are pretty feasible..
