Hello, guess what some MORE problems with my 1994 GMC 6.5 Diesel -

I had / have the hard starting black smoke ect - With 18,35,36, and a 45 trouble codes. I replace the PMD with a remote mount from Heath Diesel and the codes (all except the EGR 45) went a way for a couple of months,now they are all back and the truck just about refuses to start-

I was told to check the injection pump timing and change the CPS (was a sob to get out) - You need a scanner to set the Injector pump timing and 'Set' the CPS , corrrect ? My scanner is not compatable with the 94 GMC diesel -

The lift pump is a new HD one and the injection pump supposedly was replaced by GM 20,000 mi Ago.

Thanks for Any help the GMC Dealership in Milwaukee WI want 1800 $+to stick in a injection pump.

Tommy I too have a 94 yukon w/6.5 diesel tb and have never seen another one on the road.Is yours a two door? I recently had similar symptoms and found I had clogged cat which I gutted and truck runs great. May not be your problem but it's easy to check. Just unbolt at 4 bolt flange and fire her up otherwise you might have a wastegate or glow plug problem. I was told that I needed a new Ip too.

When you go to start the motor, do you see the tach moving or bouncing around? If it does not move, the CPS could be bad.

Yup its a 2 - door / Bright Red -The cat WAS plugged completely when I got it-


I installed a new crank sensor in it but now it sounds out of time in needs to be set some how according to the manual.
