Ok guys here it is. This winter I am planning on purchasing a SunCoast stage V allison, but I am not completely sure on which torque converter to get. If you look at my truck it is lifted with 35's w/ 20" wheels. I am leaning towards the 1056 converter, since I have plans on eventually changing out turbo. But is this a good choice with my wheel tire size combo. I am running the stock gears, but again I may change those to, maybe 4:11 or 4:56. I am purchasing alot of parts this winter to put on this truck in the spring before the sled pulling / drag racing season starts. Here is a little rundown of what I am putting on, EFI live, SC Stage 5 w/ converter, tie rod sleeves and cognito braces, air dog 150, and maybe a Cheetah. I need help from some of you trans gurus, what torque converter would work best with my setup.

call mike l or talk to ron at suncoast when you order they both will know what you need your lift/ bigger tires will make the stall speed higher i think so that needs to be acounted for along with what ever turbo you choose .

I was hoping that Mike or somebody from SunCoast would see this and possibly give me the info I was needing. But thanks for the input.

imo about the tc, but if you plan on drag racing and sled pulls, then changing the rear and front gears will help compensate for the tire combo you have. nice looking truck! good luck!

You are going to have to decide what you are going to do with this truck before anyone can help you with converter choice. Any last minute changes in mods will make a difference and cause you to have the wrong converter. None of the major converter companys ( Suncoast,Precision, ATS ) will have a bad converter for your truck no matter which one of their converters you choose, but we can dial it in and make you and your truck happier.:D
