  My 04.5 LLY with 8,065 miles on it has sprung a leak. I don't know at this time exactly where on the motor the oil is coming from, but it has pooled at the tranny bell housing and has dripped 3 large pools on my driveway. The truck is at the dealer now and they have had it for 2 days and no word as of yet. I sure hope it is something trivial, but it sure was a lot of oil. Also the oil looked a bit grey, which would indicate possible oil water mix.. OHHHHH NO !! Any comments to help with my sanity would be appreciated, since I haven't read too much about oil leaks.. Thanks

Somebody more knowledgeable than me will chime in, but did you check the intercooler hose? I doubt that you'd see much oil seeping from here, but I think it's a possibility. Did you set any codes that you know of? I'm wondering if you potentially blew the hose off?

The dealer called and said they would have to pull the tranny because they couldn't find the leak after chasing dye. I feel that they are covering up something, as they put me off for almost two days before telling me they couldn't find a leak. I read about the intercooler hose and asked the dealer, they said that is very uncommon, but did not rule it out. I'm not sure if the truck set any codes. I'm starting to get concerned !!!!!!!

There is a TSB for a leak around the cross bolt on the mains. It could also be the rear main. I know because mine has had the tranny out twice for both problems. Took them a week by the time they got parts. Truck never even made it home. Has been perfect since tho, with 4500 miles, so let them fix it, it'll be worth it.....;)
