I want to get some fog lights

I just want an idea of how you guys are mounting them so If you have pics in your garage just say so in this topic so I can take a look :)

I have fog lights on my truck. The PO put them on their, but, I feel they were done by a shop someplace. They look good, just don't work currently. Since it does not keep the truck from running I have not attempted to have my brother fix them.

The same set up I have is what they sale at LMC truck parts. Mine are placed in the front air dam and the switch is on the dash on the right hand side.

They look good to me.

IMO you shouldn't put them in the holes in the bumper, blocks airflow. This hasn't been confirmed and its definatly an arguable point but JMO.

Mine are on top of my bumper, with a light bar over the roof. Lots of light looks like a semi on the highway at night.

I don't know if you could call these fog lights, but if i could find the factory bulbs they'd be bright as hell. http://scottsmotorsportsperformance.com/images/C1000.jpg

I have my pmd mounted in there in the center for maximum airflow, if i put the lights in then there wouldnt be maximum airflow. Bought a full size westin brush guard thet im going to fabricate once winter is over to mount to the fisher plow hooks with pins so i can remove it in the winter so it doesnt rust. I also have 2 hella 150 watters waiting to go on, i had them on my old truck, they were INSANELY bright! The only proble is i ave to find a hardcore switch, i went throught 4 of them till i ordered a 50 watter.

I use relays to control my lights so that I don't have to use large wires and switches.

That how i wire all my lights now. My first set on a POS beater car had no relay and burned up the wiring harness at the fuse holder(two 55W fogs). That was the first and last time i'll ever use the "supplied wiring harness" for anything other than scraps of wire. Then again being a beater car i really didn't care too much. :p:

Same way I learned Dave, my old 92 Chev Cavalier, smoked the fusebox more than once.

I had a set of fog lights And an electric fan take out a couple of fuses holders Now on any thing that might have a good amount of draw It a fuse link and relay every time. The light going out in the dark is 1 thing. But that isnt near as bad as watching your temp climb when you are stuck in traffic. The electric fan was on a toyota that I have.

My Avatar explains mine. they look small in the pic, but I assure you that they put out more light than the stock truck does with the all-4-on mod.

They are Dick Cepek C-1000s. They came with a variant of a 9003 headlight bulb. Problem is the stock bulb had only one filament(instead of high and low beam like the 9003) and the stock bulbs were 210 watts each. I"ve just got the 9003s in there now set to high beam(~60 watts i believe) and they are bright, but not as bright as they could be. :p:

It's almost stupid expensive, but I'm getting the parts together to put OEM fogs and airdam on my truck. I wouldn't go that route on a 4x4 for fear of ripping it off in the woods. Once I have the parts, I'm going to build up my own wiring harness from some stereo amp wiring stuff I have laying around the house.

I have some little Baja Champions. Yes, From Auto Zone. I used different wiring and a toggle switch I think they work great

That looks like the way to go.

So you just drilled holes in your stock bumper to mount them right?

That is correct. I think it was a 5/16" hole that I needed.
