Primarily this is directed at recently joined members, as you guys & gals gets settled in and learn how to navigate the site, hopefully you managed to stumble across the welcome notes and FAQss in sticky threads. What burning new to Diesel/6.5 unanswered questions do you think need to be there that would be helpful for the reading audience. The way the FAQS come into being is I hyperlink those threads started by an indidividual member as a question and info following the question forms the answer for future reference.

This is why I b1tch, harp, whine, winge, be anal, etc. about staying on topic in a given thread. Want to take thread a different direction cool just start another thread. If you look what's out there in forum world especially for 6.5 ours is becoming a place folks like to visit. Civility is the key; go to any of the steak sauce sites for example of how not to run a forum.

Sorry got off track, you guys are the backbone of the site I just try to keep it on message, if you don't see something you want start a thread, anybody see a particular thread that would make a good FAQ link shoot me a PM I'll ask others what they think and we will make it happen.

That said I still reserve the right to pass :D

I wouldn't mind a complete how to of running 100% on french fry oil. The recent post is a pretty good start. I would like to see what I need to build a filtration/purification system, how to adapt it to my truck, what I can expect as far as longevity, etc.

Also, being married with a little one on the way, I would like to know how to get free money legally to mod my truck! :-)

There is a ton of usefull information on this site and since joining I have learnd more about 6.5's than I have in all the time I have owned my truck. I have found everyone friendly and always willing to help. One of the things that I think would be helpfull to us not so technical guys would be a thread with good discussion of were the limits of modification are. That is, were is the line were you start losing longevity and reliability. I think most of it is prob. on the site but it is very scattered and difficult to put together.

Thank for asking TD.

My suggestion would be a thread on routine maintenance (with pictures). A sort of when, why and how to for all the standard maintenance on a 6.5. Items such as changing glow plugs, fuel filter, injectors etc. I know I would find it useful being relatively new to the 6.5. I am sure all of this info is here already but one centralized place to find it would be great.

I have to add that this site is absolutely priceless for a 6.5 newbie...my thanks to all!

I agree. THe pictures help me greatly. I see parts under the hood but I don't always know what they are with out the pics. I have gained a tremendous amount of help since joining. This site has saved me tons of $$. I am very thankful I found it. I would have never known how to fix my harmonic balancer or what it even was. THANKS A MILLION!

Tim,

A little off subject, but something I would like to see is a section on IFS trucks, dealing with things like suspension, tires, brakes, rust, lift kits, snow plows, etc...

As for the 6.5TD, maybe a chart listing the changes by year and the IP for that given configuration. Perhaps even a separate chart listing IP by year, changes and other information. There has been a lot of discussion lately on IP pump versions, so I think a list could be be easily built/confirmed. Let me think about the categories and PM you my thoughts.

All great ideas guys, but too much for me to handle by my lonesome, so like the movie "if you build it they will come", one of you guys start off the thread and the rest of us will join in, and we collectively can add to the thread, once we are satisified the particular thread is well covered I'll link it to the FAQs.

I'd prefer to handle alternate fuels here http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14 a lot of traffic on the subject, drop in there and ask same question.
