bobr70 01-02-2009, 01:48 PM Hey DP, This is an on going problem im having..Every couple of hundred miles after i fill both tanks it defaults to empty with light on and the DIC center shows 3 hypens in it. It usually takes 50 or 60 miles untill it resets itself...Any fixes for this one?...Its really getting anoying.. Its a 2004.5 reg cab & chassis, duramax, auto...Thanks DP with any help...Hopefully i dont have to go to the stealer.... badbowtie169 01-02-2009, 02:17 PM do you have an aux tank in the bed? if you do the computer gets confused and will read empty. usually as soon as its empty the gauge will go back to reading normal again. lotsofmiles 01-02-2009, 02:46 PM is it a gravity feed? JC1843 01-02-2009, 10:02 PM In my opinion, when you fill the tank to max-- the float goes over the normal range and shorts to ground, which causes the gauge to go to zero and the fuel light to come on. Yep, my Aero tank does the same thing, but I don't think a new sender will fix the problem-- and I am not pulling the tank or removing the bed to try. Just one of those things I will live with. :D Of course you can regulate the fuel and make sure it never goes to the max when filling. :eek: | ||
