You have 2 choices..........buy an XM ready head unit and get the XM module for direct tuning or go with a SKY-FI or a ROADY II and use the cassette adapter or the Roady II has a BUILT-IN FM Modulator........:ro)

I used the Roady with the Stock Radio via the cassette adapter for over a year then decided I wanted to listen to XM with better sound quality and the ability to play MP3's so I purchased a Sony X-Plod.........

XM Rocks...............

Doesn't work all that well in the mountains, either.

XM is great but like cable TV, they add a few channels, ones you may never listen to, and jack the price. Going up from 10 bucks a month to 13 I think April 1st. Cancelled mine in Nov. Feb got a call from XM begging for a renewal and got a year for 60 bucks. Guess like everything else, price is negotiable. Had better get the same price when the year is up or will cancel again. Lived 67 years without it so it's not a vital life force thing for me. Nice but far from necessary.

I have been all over the US with XM onboard. Never have had any problems except a couple of times in the mountains. But that was only for a few minutes each time. Yes it does have comercials, sort of. But I get to listen to the typwe of music I want. XM:ro)

I've got a kit that will allow a factory install. All OEM parts.

Works on 03+ trucks with the BOSE radio.

If your OEM headunit has the *Band* button, you can get an adapter from SoundGate and a Kenwood (or maybe Pioneer) XM OR Sirius tuner for MUCH less that the $300+ OEM XM tuner. And your steering wheel controls if you have them will still work.

I'm yanking the XM unit out for Sirius in prep for the King of all Media's move in January.

Regardless, I think that XM programing selection sucks! You'll have one tune that you like, and the next one will leave you saying WTF! Where did that come from? I prefer either classic or alternative rock, but end up listening to country as it is the only thing I can listen to for any length of time. AND I REALLY DON'T CARE FOR COUNTRY! :)

Plus, I get real irritated when they play the bumpers in between songs. I already know what channel I'm listening too, I don't need to hear a 15-30 second promo for it!!!

The traffic channel is great, but only if your in one of the major areas that are covered....

Traffic channel is great?? i live right outside of D.C. and they are never right. I listen for the reports and they tell about everything but the I-395 south in the afternoon seem like anyway. the traffic conditions are always yellow, whatever that means, might just as well not have any color conditions, just say traffic sucks and be done with it.
sorry for the rant.

I do like the 80's channel tho.

Dunno, it has saved me on several occasions here in the Phoenix metro area, especially on side streets...

I flat out refuse to "pay" to listen to the radio, be it XM or Sirrus. Just like Satellite TV, they will sucker you in with "no comercial" brodcasting, then slowly start adding commercials (they earn two paychecks this way). At first, a couple are not noticed, but soon it's just like the commercial conterpart. My satellite TV has as many commercials as free TV! What gives!! They now collect money from me and the people they run the commercials for! Besides, with my over 13,000 MP3s, I will Never run out of songs to play!

 Enough of my rant. In conclusion, my opinion is if satellite radio does not already suck, it won't be too much longer before it does! Be forewarned. Then like the Onstar... It will be another useless gadget you wish you'd never ordered.

Even if I have to rip out head unit and repleace with another aftermarket brand,Unless they offer both bands soon,May never happen so I'll trade trucks or switch units out plus get GPS,Onstar is money wasted IMO,Might use Onstar antenna with GPS unit

I saw a post the other day that had a guy using his Onstar antenna for the GPS, seems like the only logical use for that antenna when the one year free subsciption runs out.

Doesn't work all that well in the mountains, either.

Never had a problem going through the mountains on I70 in Colorado...except for Glenwood Springs Canyon.

I do not listen to the stations that have a lot of commercials...like 41, 48...202 has alot of commercials but O&A rule!
