22,000 miles and just started to use 1 qt of oil in 1,000 miles pulling my 5th wheel. No leaks and no smoke but exhaust looks like more soot than normal.Regen is on normal cycle ,soot mass seems normal looking at my dashawk, normal, power level and truck is dead stock.Any thoughts before I contact dealer?

Should be able to have the dealer to monitor it. I know in gassers if it usues a quart in less than 1400miles then they have some options. Not sure on Duramax warranty. As to cause may pvc reroute may help. Might disconnect the turbo pipes to see if heavily oil contamitated. For smoke maybe the DPF does such a good job you dont know if it is blowby.

I'm in Vegas right now and I've got 33K+ and checked my oil today and it was a little low, but I'm not sure if my truck was on level ground at the fuel station. I just switched to synthetics at 32K be fore this trip. I'm going to check it closely at next fuel up. I recently noticed dripping oil from one of the blue hoses near the front bumper. I think it's part of the intercooler system. I don't have a DPF.

using delvac...dealer thinks may be a turbo issue. We are in FL so called the dealer at home to discuss. There are some known issues with the new turbo and known issues with the pcv system so here we go again with lots of repairs

What are the known issues with pcv and turbo? It would be nice to know what I have coming.

Do you still have your stock PCV hooked up ?

If you do then it's most likely blow by oil leaking from the blue hoses since the PCV is routed into the intake air supply.

Yes, the stock PCV is still routed. I figured it was from that. I'm about ready to do the PCV reroute. I have pretty much all the parts...now just waiting for the weather to warm up some, hehe.

I just did my reroute the other day and the worst part was trying to get those little 10mm bolts in and out without dropping them and having them be lost forever :(

I used a magnet to pick them up and put them back when they were loose and all was well :)

I see your still loving your duramax. I chimed in a few times on your "another rear main seal" post some time ago. I two had the same issues. Mine turned out to be an issue with the PCV dumping oil into my intake and leaking out of there. I have yet to reroute but I am going to. Anyway I dont know if it was that post or another one that some told me it was common for the Dmax to use up to a quart oil of between changes. Mine has been down a quart or so every once and a while. I will check mine and post again because I just drove from CO to NY towing a small trailer.

will the dealer do a pcv reroute?

The oil is not leaking from the pcv system. That was fixed after the dealer thought it was the rear main seal by sealing the system per GM'S fix.I have no leaks anywhere and its not using a quart between changes, which would be about the same as my old lb7.This is better than quart in 1,000 miles which is not normal. The main point is "no smoke" "no leak"so what the h could it be.
