: How much lift do i need for 37's or 38's?
B-rad 03-30-2005, 07:24 PM alrighty im going to forgo the green keys, lift blocks, and 305's,and do it up big time.i am going to put toyo m/t 37's minimum. maybe some 38's.with 18" rims.probably weld velocity 8's. i want it to look right. i dont want too much lift for the tires. BUT i dont want to have to trim front air dams, adjust bumpers, cut fender flares, etc, you get the point.AND i haul heavy loads from time to time.im talking 2500lb loads in the bed 4-6 times a year maybe more. plus i'll have a 20' enclosed trailer im gonna haul a drag car in.just not at the same time. lol
1.how much lift do i need?
2.whose kit? CST? RCD? Cognito?other?
LBZrcks 03-30-2005, 07:49 PM If you want minimal trimming and cutting go with a CST 8-11, you could pull it off with the cognito lift that is for sale in the classified section. Can't go with RCD since all they make for HD's is a 6" lift. You can go 8" like I have have and run the 37" toyos like I also have, but your gonna need to trim the front air dam especialy since the toyos are 13.5, If you went to a tire that was 12.5 you would have to trim less.

Coles_D/A 03-30-2005, 09:50 PM Go with the 10-12" Cognito! Just put one on my truck with 37x14's! Truck looks perfect!
tbyrne 03-30-2005, 10:47 PM I was going to be running 37s with the 7-9" Cognito lift. Might have been able to fit 38s with it at 9" but I think they would have been very tight.
I have the Cognito lift that is in the classified section if you are interested.
ACCinc. 03-31-2005, 12:47 AM Try getting a 8" lift. You could probably fit 40s with a 8" but the 37"s will look awesome.
Liftedhdrado 03-31-2005, 10:26 AM On my last 03 HD I had the 8" CST kit with 37's on 17's....Had to cut a good portion of the fender.....New 05 HD I have the 12" Cognito with the same 37's on 17's which I am working on getting some 38's on 18's....I personally like the 9-11" CST Kit or the 10-12" Cognito.

Bodysurfer 03-31-2005, 11:56 AM Are you running an aftermarket driveshaft on ur truck? If so what kind? just curious.....No, just that LARGE stocker one on the truck. I am only running a 6inch lift so it still works and the angles are good.

LATER!
Chisuzu 03-31-2005, 11:59 AM I have the CST 6 inch lift and I'm pretty sure I could fit 38's in there if I wanted to. There is plenty of room and if you don't plan on jumping it, full compression clearance shouldn't be an issue. I'm running 35's right now, with the price of diesel, I won't be trying anything larger.

Truck looks good..I have the same lift kit..I love it...I have a couple questions:
1. What size rear springs did you get?
2. Did they use the factory torsion keys or aftermarket keys?
The lift shop that lifted my truck used the factory torsion keys which I know if I was to buy the green keys I can crank it alil bit higher....
Elowe65 04-01-2005, 11:56 AM I have a 6" RCD with 37x13.5 M/T's on 17x9 Alcoas and it fits fine.
Now I do have the green keys installed (almost maxed out, down just a bit for the ride) and I did trim the airdam a bit, tucked the inner fender well behind the fender lip in the back and tied back the e brake cable.
If you want to be safe with no mods to the truck, then do at leat the 8" if not 10-11".
See sig for pics
Crayz 04-02-2005, 12:04 PM B-Rad, if you decide to go with 17" wheels I have a set of Weld Cheyenne 8's for sale (17x8.5) in the 'for sale' section, check them out!
diesel man 04-02-2005, 05:08 PM Brad - Rims Are Cromed Ice Metal Is The Maker . Same Load Rating As Welds . Liftedhdrado- 8 Inch Springs In Rear I Had To Add Air Bags Because Of The Weight Of My Trailer The Deavers Are Very Soft . I Have The Green Keys On There But Are Not Cranked At All . With The Stock Keys In There They Were Cranked And Made The Axel Angle Too Extreme .
GMC2500HD 04-02-2005, 05:29 PM I would run a Full Throttle or CST kit. Those seem to be the top kits on the market. I know Third Coast makes a decent kit, seems to be a knock off of the Full Throttle kit in every aspect so you have to decide what you want it to look like. Good luck.

Can you tell the difference between the green keys and the stock keys?
I still have the factory torsion keys which they cranked up. When I get my 38's on 18's I wanted to get another inch or two so would the green keys be the correct keys to replace the factory ones with?
B-rad 04-07-2005, 07:41 PM now i cant decide between the cognito 10-12 or the CST 9-11. definitely doing 20's and 37's after seeing dieselman truck
