: REAL Train Horns Only, Come On In...
Mad Maxx 12-31-2008, 05:54 PM This is only for People that have REAL Train Horns. Meaning Leslie, Nathan, Wabco, ect... The Real Deal, no HornBlasters Shockers, Wolo 3 Chimes, Truck Stop Horns, ect...
Lets see where you got your stuff Mounted, the Specs on it all (How many Gallon Tank, Air Line Size, Compressor Model, Horn Model, you get the idea.) Post up as many Pics as you can and as much Info as you can.
I'll start it off...
Leslie RS3K Horn / 5 Gallon Tank / 1 480c Compressor / 1/2" Lines / 110/145psi Switch. Got the Horns Mounted under the Bed facing out the Back Corner where the Exhaust Exits. I got my Debris Shields Today, so I'll be able to Turn them Forward now. :)

I'm wanting to order a Nathan K3 and Mount it up behind the Grille / Front Bumper Area. But I am worried about the Vibration possibly setting off the Air Bags, because I heard the Sensors for them are attached to the Rad Support. What do you think?
TwistedLogic010 01-01-2009, 02:08 PM Well I don't have the pics yet. This is what I have. Nathan K5LA. Just waiting to get them powder coated. I have 2 ViAir 480C compressors that are getting mounted behind the rear seat where my jack assembly used to mount. The lines running down through the floor to a water trap and to an 8.5 gallon DOT tank. Graham White train valve mounted under front driver seat sideways. 3/4" lines from tank to valve to horns. I will have pics soon.
With this setup I also lost my spare. That was gone anyways because of the larger tire size on the truck. There is a port on the tank for a quick connect to a 30' coiled hose with air chuck for the emergencies. I keep a plug kit in the truck.
crewzindmax 01-01-2009, 03:04 PM i have a nathan P3 i got on ebay. the rest of the stuff i got from airhornsoftexas. 5 gallon tank, 145 psi switch, and viair 460c pump. pics are in my garage. one of these days ill tie the airbags in to the air as well. ive added a quick change chuck to the tank so i can air up tires, air bags and what not. id like to eventually get the 2 other horns to make it a P5. i think it will still fit where its mounted too.
98BuickRegalgs 01-02-2009, 02:13 AM Im too lazy to search, how much does a real train horn set up run for?
jtaylor11 01-02-2009, 02:23 AM Those P3s will run ya 800+, the P5s are 1000+. If I had the extra money Id run em. I drive through Houston too much and like to express my opinions of there driving.

If you want a Horn ready to Mount on your Truck (doesn't need Cleaned, Rebuilt, ect...) just the Horn is gonna run you a Minimum of $500.
dmaxdavid 01-02-2009, 09:19 PM I have had train horns on my truck's for about 6 years. And by trucks I mean the horns go with me when I sell the truck. Here is some of my setup I will post more pics tomorrow. The whole package is as follows. 2 viair 450c compressors with a 60 amp and 110-150psi pressure switch relay for each,1/2" line all the way, 1/2" hand valve, viair pressure guage, 50' air line for all the road hazards or for blowing your self off when you get dusty or dirty.
dmaxdavid 01-02-2009, 09:24 PM Oh yeah the horns are K5's firing back and k3's firing down. probally the best thing a truck can have for raw fun!
Mad Maxx 01-02-2009, 09:25 PM That's gotta be fun.
You should turn the K5's Forward, and try to Mount the K3's Upfront behind the Grille or Bumper.

dmaxdavid 01-02-2009, 10:47 PM ok I'll do that tomorrow they are my friends house he was listing them on e bay for me. but as you know the horns are the real thing and i was asking $400 for each.
crewzindmax 01-04-2009, 01:41 PM i have $8-$900 invested in my whole setup. i paid $450 i believe for the horn on ebay. took me a while to find a horn i wanted, then find that horn. i missed a few auctions. i sampled a lot of wav files and videos before i settled on a good sound.
