I'm getting a remote starter installed soon and will be getting a programmer as soon as my money lets me. I was wondering if they will interfere with each other at all. I wouldn't think so, but has anyone had problems when having both installed? Also my girlfriend was looking at the remote starters for my birthday, she said i 3 styles to choose from. One style gets installed by crimping connections, sodder, or plug-in. Which style do you guys think would be the best to go with?

i dont know about the tuner and remote start interferring with one another but as far as the 3 styles i say go with the plug-in. crimping can sometimes come apart after awhile or not have a good connection, soddering can be difficult if its in a hard place but plug-in is the easyest way to go

Didn't know anyone had a plug in type. If you get that let us know what you got, but the majority get crimped or soldered in. Soldering would be the best way to install it. As far as the starter and a programmer goes, they will work together just fine. The remote start just deals with the starting system and nothing with engine parameters.

I have had my Astrostart on for over a yr. Had the PPE on the whole time w/o issue.

I have installed many remote starters on diesels with & without programmers. I have had no problems. If you use crimp connectors correctly they will last the life of the truck.
