Is this something that can be done by the average do it your selfer? I'm definitly not a mechanic but I don't take my truck to Jiffy lube to have the oil changed either. Somewhere in between would explain my understanding of working on this type of project. Thanks

Yes, it's a fairly easy install. You'll need a drill and some wrenches, but it's not tough by any means. I personally found the toughest part was removing the fuel lines from the top of the tank, mostly due to the confined space. It is certainly more complex than changing your oil, but not to the scope of internal engine modifications. Check the Nicktane website for installation instructions to give you an idea: http://www.nicktane.com/images/fuelfilters/Nicktane%20Duramax%20Fuel%20Filter_Ver2_%20Install %20Instructions.pdf

Like Tom said. I would have a uni-bit to drill for the mounting. standard bit seems to grab and take the drill with it. Lines are bad on a std cab but a cc or ex-cab will be easier. Get a lisle fuel line disconnecter from sears.
