SO for the ones that have an 08 extended cab, I have a crew cab and looking for an 08 3500cc duillie. All I can find is an EC ltz. I haven't looked at it yet, I am going down maybe tomorrow(sick 5 year old girl at home with me) I was wondering if the back seat room is that much smaller than my 06cc. The newer body style ec seem to have a little bit more room than the 06's. Can you give me you opinion's on the choice.

Can't answer you direct question, but I went from EC to CC/06 to 08 and I can't believe I waited this long. I'll probably never go back to an EC. There is no comparison in the leg room department.

That said, if all you use the back for is your children and they are not in any type of booster seat/car seat - you would likely be fine with the EC. With the booster/car seat, I didn't like the travel the front seats have or rather don't have.

she is in a booster seat and I have 2 golden Retrievers 130 and 90lbs.
I wish I knew they were giving so much discounts on the 08's before.
The dealer has an 08 ltz loaded 53,000, he quoted over the phone $34,000. for an xc.

You already have a CC so you know the ease of being able to open a separate door for the backseat. I have had a subruban and now CC. When I was looking I was a little tempted with the cost savings of EC but a friend who had kids and EC pointed out it was much easier to load the kids with a separate full size door instead of having to swing both doors in opposite directions, especially in a parking lot. That thought combined with the extra leg room and YES there is more leg room sold me on the CC.

Good luck

I know the outside dimensions are nearly identical, so I doubt the inside dimensions have increased on the 08. My 08 ec doesnt seem any bigger than my 05 was.

I went from an 04 ec to an 07.5 cc and you know what the difference is im sure. The one thing i can say about the inside of the new trucks is the angles are now more rounded. It gives the illusion and feel of a bigger cab imo. I would never own a ec again after the ease of 4 full doors. The gentlemen above stated it with the parking lot issues with four doors that go opposite directions. I would wait for a cc, the deals will only get better.

Last summer when I was looking for my truck I looked and EC and Crew cab trucks. I have 16 yo twins not enough room for them and me and the wife up front. Knees in the back of the front seats, would be ok for short duration trips but not comfortable. I had to have a truck that will carry everybody comfortable for long distances and the crew was the only choice. When compared GM vs the Ford crew cabs, the Ford has more room but harder to get into and lots louder and less reliable and at the time more expensive. I got the chevy crew and damn glad I did.
So if you plan to keep the truck for a long time it would most likely be better to get the crew(IMO), those extra few inches become more important as the age/size of the backseat passengers get bigger. And if you want a crew and 8ft bed means you will have to get a HD/SD line of a truck, not sure on the Dodge (I didnt even look).

There's many more dealers and LOADS of stock out there. What state you looking in?

You want the CC......... Heck I would get a Dodge Mega Cab before I would downsize to an EC........

Call around to other dealers/states. Find a dealer willing to find it for you. I traveled 800 miles round trip twice for the right deal. Or they can transport it........

I'm in mass and I went to O'Connor GMC in Maine to get mine. They had the best deal, the truck with the most options and they could do a locate for you in and around them.

I did what JIMMY said and just started searching zip codes until I found what I wanted.

Good luck.

Ya do a zip code search on the GM site,if you get the local dealer involved its just gonna cost you extra, find it and deal with that dealer directly.I did this and had to travel 300 miles to get mine but it was well worth the trouble.

They are all sold out around here. I looked on a Friday two weeks ago came back on Monday and bought. When I picked it up on Wednesday (they had to bring it in from another dealer) the salesman said there weren't anymore 08's left within 300 mile of here.

Parks Chevrolet in Kernersville does'nt have any ec models, although at least 8 cc in various trim levels for anyone interested.
