I need to install a side step on my duramax, I need something which hangs quite low, make is simple for my mother (who had a mini stroke) to board the vehicle.

Q:
1. which brand/make makes the lowerest hanging steps?
2. any special parts needed for install? like extenders?
3. anyone tried the folding steps things? am I going to hit my shin on these?

You shoud look into the AMP steps. My wife has RA and it sure does help her even with the lift.
